Meet Your Host Diana!

I’m Diana and I’m the mom to a wonderfully precocious 2 year old little girl.  I am an older mom- I gave birth in my 40’s after struggling with infertility, several miscarriages, endometriosis, and IVF.  I am a first generation Chinese American and I was born and raised in New York City.  I come from a big traditional Chinese family who poured everything into their children.  I was instilled with work ethic, the importance of education, and traditional Chinese family values. Now let’s get this straight, obedience is not my strong suit (and I wonder where my daughter gets it from??). I am learning everyday to balance tradition, modern, evidence-based child rearing, and plain intuition.  Some things I keep and other things I don’t because it doesn’t fit my family, or my end game for us.

Before motherhood I was super career driven and even though I wanted a family I always thought I would be a career mom.  I never thought I would be making a career as a mom.   I went to med school and switched over to healthcare administration.  I always dreamed of being a CEO.  I ran doctor’s offices, hospitals, laboratory medicine, and clinical and surgical procedures.  The element of chaos and controlling that chaos has always been a part of my life.  I loved it!

My favorite thing about what I did was connecting to people and thats why I’m so excited to be here now.  We get to connect to you and not only share our stories and friendship, but we get to hear from you and build a community together!

Meet Your Host Tessie!

I’m the stay at home mom of 4 beautiful human beings. I was blessed with 3 boys and then my precious baby girl, so you all know who runs the household now! Being a mom is truly my purpose for being alive.

From a very young age, all I ever wanted to do was be a stay at home mom. In my 20’s I was living the single life and had big dreams of being an entrepreneur with many plans being set in place. I was going to be a world renowned business woman! But with all of my planning and preparation, God had other plans. When I was 28, right at the cusp of my business taking off,  I met my wonderful husband and as the saying goes, the best laid plans…….God laughed. Or so I thought….when in fact, I was being set up to truly live the purpose I was created for here on earth, to be a wife and mother. And as they say, the rest is history.

It definitely hasn’t been anything AT ALL of what I thought it would be and definitely has been WAY harder than I could have ever imagined, however when I stop and think about “what would I be doing if I wasn’t doing this?” There literally isn’t an answer to that question, I absolutely LOVE my job and what I get to do every day which is being with my babies, it truly is the greatest joy and blessing I could ever ask for.

I know that many of you listening, feel the same way and so I hope we can connect and through the ups and downs, the good times and the bad, the hard time, sad times, happy times, and unexpected things, we will have this amazing tribe of women who are connected and supportive through this amazing journey of motherhood.
